Enric García Domingo

Enric Garcia Domingo (Barcelona, 1962). PhD in Contemporary History awarded by the University of Barcelona, with a thesis entitled El trabajo en la marina mercante española en la transición de la vela al vapor (1834-1914) (Work in the Spanish merchant navy during the transition from sail to steam [1834-1914]). He has been a specialist for many years in subjects related to maritime history, and has published various works in this field, such as: Viure o morir al mar. El salvament marítim al Maresme (1998), El hombre y la mar. A través de los tiempos (2004), Creences del Mar (2003), ¿España neutral? La marina mercante española y la Primera Guerra Mundial (2005), 80 anys de construcció naval a Tarragona, 1918-1998. Astilleros de Tarragona S.A. (2007), Hijos de José Tayà (1915-1926). El Miratge de la Gran Guerra (2007) and El pailebot Santa Eulàlia (2009), as well as various papers and presentations at national and international conferences.

Currently, he is head of the Collections and Knowledge Department of the Barcelona Maritime Museum (MMB) and as a researcher he is associated with a consolidated research group called Work, Institutions and Gender (TIG) at the University of Barcelona.
