Miquel Martí Llambrich

Bachelor’s degree in History from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Management and Museology from the Universityof Barcelona.


Head of the Heritage Department in Palamós Town Council. He is director of the Fishing Museum in Palamós and of related cultural projects such as the Espai del Peix (Fish Place), and the Fundación Promediterrània per a la conservació, l’estudi i la difusió del patrimoni cultural i marítim (Pro-Mediterranean foundation for the conservation, study and dissemination of cultural and maritime heritage). He is technical coordinator of the Maritime Studies Chair (Palamós Town Council and the University of Girona) and a member of the Maritime Fishing, Social Studies Group (GESPM) of the University of Girona.

As a researcher, his work is focused on maritime and fishing heritage. He is the author of various papers and co-author of a treatise entitled La pesca a Catalunya and the book Palamós, un privilegi. He coordinated the Inventory of Maritime and Fishing Heritage of the Costa Brava (1995-1999), as part of the Inventory of the Ethnological Heritage of Catalonia (IPEC), and has led research projects in the field of history and maritime heritage in different calls for applications of the IRMU, AGAUR and the IPEC.

He is a member of the Editorial Board for the Revista d'Etnologia de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and Estudis del BaixEmpordà (IEBE).
