PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Murcia (2008), currently lecturer at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) on the master’s degree in Social Development, the pre-EHEA degree in Social Anthropology, and the bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education.

Her research on anthropology of fishing began during a research period at the El Colegio de la Frontera Sur de México (2009-2011), with an initial project entitled Estudio etnográfico de la comunidad de San Pedro, Tabasco. Identidades en base a su realidad ambiental (Ethnographic study of the community of San Pedro, Tabasco. Identities based on the environmental reality), and in studies carried out in Chiapas and Campeche, Mexico.

In addition to research on the anthropology of fishing, policy and participatory action research, other notable activities are:

- Organization of the First international and interdisciplinary seminar on fishing studies in Mexico on 24-26 February 2011, Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico.
- Organization of the Second international seminar on fishing studies at the Autonomous University of Guerrero and the Catholic University of Murcia, 2013.
